A Quick Look at Epoxy Resins

I’ve been crafting with epoxy resin for over a decade, creating everything from elegant jewelry and decorative trays to small tabletops and unique art pieces. During that time, I’ve experimented with many brands of resin, each offering its own qualities in clarity, consistency, and curing behavior. Some have been easy to work with right out of the bottle, while others required a bit of patience and technique to master.

Working with resin has taught me that every brand performs a little differently depending on the project. The viscosity, working time, and final finish all play a big part in how successful your results will be. After years of testing, pouring, sanding, and polishing, I’ve found a few brands that consistently give me reliable, professional-looking results.

In this article, I’m sharing my personal experience with several of my current favorites…the resins I trust most for clear finishes, strong cures, and minimal bubbles. These are the products that have earned a regular place in my studio, and I’ll continue adding more reviews of other brands I’ve used in future updates.

Let’s Resin Epoxy Resin

Let’s Resin was the first brand I tried, mostly because it’s affordable and everyone seems to recommend it for beginners. The mixing ratio is a simple one-to-one, and I found it really forgiving if you’re not perfectly precise. It poured smoothly, cured evenly, and only produced a few bubbles which were easy to remove with a small torch. After 24 hours, the pieces were clear, shiny, and surprisingly strong.

I used this resin for coasters and small molds, and I loved how consistent it was from batch to batch. There’s almost no odor, which makes it great for indoor crafting. If you’re new to resin, this is probably the best one to start with.

Best deal: You can usually find a Let’s Resin starter kit on Amazon that includes mixing cups, gloves, and stir sticks for about the same price as the resin alone.

Superclear Table Top Epoxy Resin

When I needed a stronger resin for larger projects, I bought Superclear Table Top Epoxy. It’s thicker than Let’s Resin and made for bigger pours like tabletops and river art. It lives up to its name, the finish is ultra glossy and truly clear, and it levels itself beautifully once poured. The cure time is a bit longer, but the final surface looked professional, almost like glass.

I noticed that it’s more prone to trapping bubbles if you don’t warm the bottles or pour slowly, so I learned to preheat the resin slightly before mixing. Once cured, though, it’s rock-solid and resistant to yellowing, even after a few months of sunlight exposure.

Best deal: Amazon often has gallon-size kits that come with UV protection additives and spreaders, which makes it a great buy for large projects.

Craft Resin Epoxy Resin

Craft Resin has a big following among artists, and after trying it, I can see why. The resin has a thinner consistency than Superclear, which makes it ideal for detailed art pieces or jewelry. It mixes easily, has a long working time of around 40 minutes, and cures crystal clear with a high-gloss finish.

I used Craft Resin for a layered art piece with pigment powders, and the colors turned out vibrant with zero cloudiness. It’s easy to work with and produces reliable results, even if you’re layering multiple pours. The only thing to watch for is the slightly longer cure time—closer to 36 hours for a hard finish.

Best deal: Look for the Craft Resin starter kit on Amazon. It includes measuring tools, gloves, and even mica powders in some bundles.

Fuhitim Epoxy Resin

Fuhitim was a newer brand for me, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. It’s a budget-friendly resin that’s been gaining attention online, so I decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, it performed extremely well. It mixed easily, poured smoothly, and the clarity was impressive for the price. The bubble release was great, and I didn’t notice much odor at all.

The cure time is slightly longer (around 36 hours) but the finished product is durable, clear, and flexible enough to work well with silicone molds. It handled pigments, inks, and inclusions like a pro.

Best deal: Fuhitim’s 32 oz or 64 oz kits on Amazon are usually the cheapest per ounce, and they often include both Part A and Part B bottles.

So Finally,

After using all four, here’s what I found.
Let’s Resin is my go-to for smaller crafts and everyday projects because it’s easy to mix and cures fast.
Superclear is unbeatable for larger pours and tabletops…expensive, but professional-grade.
Craft Resin is perfect for artistic projects where clarity and color depth matter.
And Fuhitim surprised me as the most budget-friendly option that doesn’t sacrifice quality.

If I had to recommend just one for beginners, I’d pick Let’s Resin. For anyone doing professional furniture or larger resin pours, Superclear is absolutely worth the price.
